As most are now aware, Precismeca Limited is introducing the latest in design evolution
for the Cema C - five and six inch rolls. The PSV design is just that . . . Evolution.
After many years of success with the original Precismeca standard design, we have now
further improved our already impressive quality sealing system. The hermetic sealing system
used in the new PSV design stands alone. It not only provides additional protection to the
bearings, but provides an even higher degree of effectiveness and longevity in the presence
of severe pollutants.
Testing of the PSV design has been successfully completed in a wide variety of
environments, and it is now in use in many conveyors overseas and in North America. The
design and method of assembly provides lower concentricity during rotation, causing less
vibration and lower starting and rotation resistance.
We are very excited to be offering the newest in roll design, as it continues to provide
us with a quality item, but at a more competitive price. It is not often in today's economy
that we can see any price reductions, however, in this case we can. Another major benefit of
the PSV is the shaft ends; they are manufactured with both slots and flats. This feature,
when used with adaptors, allows for the PSV roll to be dropped into a wide variety of
competitive frames. Essentially, we are now offering an Unsurpassed Sealing System /
Continued Long Life / Compatibility to Competitors Frames / Economical Price.
Last month Precismeca was one of 2,128 exhibitors to attend the 2008 CONEXPO-CON/AGG
in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show was the largest trade show in North America of any
industry in 2008 and saw record attendance levels of over 144,600 attendees from over
132 countries!
CONEXPO-CON/AGG was a fantastic opportunity to make new contacts and to meet with
other players in the mining industry.
A special thanks to those who stopped by our booth to meet our staff and
discuss their conveyor requirements.
New Equipment & Software
Several years ago, an aggressive and innovative objective was set - to completely
modernize Precismeca’s production facility. We are pleased to announce that the
automation of our facility in Nisku, Alberta, Canada is well under way and proceeding
as planned.
This year, 2007, has seen significant improvements. A new semi automatic assembly
machine was installed earlier this year. This machine, while designed specifically
for the NEW PSV Roll, is also capable of producing our standard product line.
In addition to the assembly equipment, a new fully automatic Robotic Welding
Machine has just been installed. This machine is linked directly to the Automatic
Tube Preparation Machine. The marriage of these machines greatly improves the
production rate while maintaining superior quality.
Sophisticated software purchases and training have also been part of 2007.
Our new Scheduling Software ties each machine and work center to a firm
(but flexible) production timetable, thus significantly improving our on time
deliveries. Cosmos (Finite Elemental Analysis), an engineering software system
that provides both product stress analysis and design optimization has also been
installed.
Also operational early in 2007 was the powder coat system. All rolls, frames
and components (size permitting) will be powder coated. The result is a superior
finish capable of surviving tough environmental conditions.
Our automation will continue. In February of 2008 we will receive our first
Fully Automatic Shaft Preparation Machine. This CNC machine is specifically designed
to meet the highest quality requirements. Not only does it machine the shafts, it
also mills and or drills the shafts as required. This particular machine monitors its
production quality and when necessary adjusts tools accordingly. 100% of the product
is inspected prior to completion.
Automation and innovation are two words Precismeca takes seriously.
